Artist Bios

David Lord is a six-string anomaly, a genuine diamond in the rough. Over time in his search and discovery missions with his chosen instrument, he has cultivated a wholly unique vocabulary that is devoid of any direct influences. What the guitarist presents is so delightfully weird and wonderful, so refreshingly original that it stands as his own personal manifesto for an alternative six-string expression.”- Bill Milkowski

After 15 releases under the name Francis Moss and with the bands Elemental Trio, The Wonder Revolution, Miki Moondrops and Solagget, guitarist and composer David Lord released the debut album under his own name in 2018, Forest Standards Vol. 1- featuring drummer Chad Taylor and bassist Devin Hoff. The album was recorded in Long Beach, CA at Chris Schlarb’s BIG EGO Studios and released via BIG EGO Records. In 2020, Lord released Forest Standards Vol. 2, also recorded at BIG EGO, featuring guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Billy Mohler and drummer Chad Taylor. Forest Standards Vol. 3 was released in 2023 via Astral Spirits & BIG EGO, again featuring Chad Taylor on drums, with additions of Nathan Hubbard (marimba, vibraphone), David Tranchina (bass) and Christine Tavolacci (flute).

Lord's music has been featured in publications such as Downbeat, Dusted Magazine, A Closer Listen, All About Jazz, Under the Radar, Bandcamp Daily, Pop Matters, Magnet and Tiny Mix Tapes. After spending the past several years in Montreal, QC, Lord recently moved back to the midwest.

CRAG is an improvising quartet consisting of Vinny Golia (woodwinds), Christian Asplund (viola and keyboards), Steven Ricks (trombone and electronics), and Ron Coulter (percussion, lo-fi electronics). Formed in 2019 for concerts in Utah and Wyoming, CRAG released its debut CD 'Polychromy' on the pfMENTUM label in 2021, and has performed at several venues and festivals in the American West and Midwest. Their diverse instrumentation and collective experience lead to exciting and unexpected sonic twists and turns, with close listening being a key ingredient.
