All Extinct Animals

Andrew Todd, Alex Maerbach, Ishmael Ali

The Elastro Series is pleased to collaborate with Chicago label Lurker Bias on a night of abstract electronics, noise, and free improvisation. The label is run by local musician Alexander Adams and they have curated a wonderful night including Torches Mauve (from Kansas City), All Extinct Animals, LB Trio, and AA-NYS-NJ-JV Quartet.

Artist Bios

Torches Mauve is the free-jazz/free improvisation duo of Seth Andrew Davis on electric guitar, laptop/electronics and Evan Verploegh on drums and percussion. Torches Mauve combines elements of free-jazz, non-idiomatic free improvisation, electro-acoustic techniques, noise, and groove based music. Davis & Verploegh released their first record Hunter on Lurker Bias in spring 2022. The duo will be releasing their self-titled follow up in February 2023. Davis & Verploegh are the co-founders of the Extemporaneous Music & Arts Society (EMAS) a Kansas City based improvised and experimental arts collective.

All Extinct Animals is the solo project of Anna Gregoline (feedbacula, La Cosa).  She utilizes guitar, electronics, and found audio to explore competing life form vibrations.

LB Trio

First time meeting of multidisciplinary improvisers, all with a multitude of associated collaborations and projects. Here they harness the textures they brought to their Lurker Bias releases and combine into a giant robot of experimentation.

AA-NYS-NJ-JV Quartet

Another first time live performance of this improvising group w/ Alexander Adams, Nick Yeck-Stauffer, Neil Jendon, and Jonathan Valdez.
