The Mosley Storey Project

THE MOSLEY STOREY PROJECT

The MOSLEY STOREY PROJECT born in March of 2020. The lingering effects of the
Coronavirus have impacted these artists and have crystalized the way they see themselves as musicians. It has opened their hearts and consciousness to infuse in their musical presentation an intention for humanity to reevaluate man’s relationship to one other as well as our environment; to reconsider our human interaction and imbue it with justice, equity and respect. To see the MOSLEY STOREY PROJECT in concert one is immediately taken into our world where musical performance is offered as a medium to address the psychological damage that mankind suffers today. The result of man’s narcissistic behavior that has affected our relationships in terms of the social, political, economic and racial imbalances, this same behavior has affected the earth from global warming to famine. They challenge the audience to consider their intentions that are embedded within the sounds they create. Their performance is a spontaneous creation of soundscapes that covers meditative sounds to sonic excursions of dissonance that reach the outer limits. Ask either Dushun Mosley or Eliel Sherman Storey to tell you how their music should be received both will say “It’s not jazz, it’s rather where the evolution of music is taking mankind. This is a TRANSITION EAST production, where A.R.T. is A REVOLUTIONARY TOOL.

Dushun Mosley

Percussionist is a performer, bandleader and father of three. Based in Chicago, IL he is the
bandleader for the Vizitors and the Signature Group, a member of the Eight Bold Souls, Front Burners, Chicago 3D, Vizitors, Shadow Vignettes and the AACM Big Band. Mr. Mosley has toured extensively as a soloist, in duets, trios and big bands. He has been called upon to do numerous engagements in social clubs, music halls and festivals in cities throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and Japan. These performances have contributed to his distinguished reputation as a forerunner in this generation of innovators. His style is Traditional Jazz, Blues and Funk in a combo band setting, but feels equally at home pushing big bands and Orchestras to their limit.

Eliel Sherman Storey, a musician dedicated to the concept of those that create African-American art must take the responsibility to produce, define and preserve it. After years of living in Germany and performing throughout Europe, the Caribbean, South America and Africa he returned to his hometown of Chicago in 1991 and founded in (2005) “Transition East Studio” an intimate audio/visual venue allowing him to create his musical vision without any external pressures or influences. In 2003 he along with Ernest Dawkins and Stephen Berry created a cutting-edge Internet business, www.chi-creates.tv (Chicago Creative Arts online Inc.) devoted to bringing creative artistic programs to the marketplace, by streaming them on- line until his departure in 2005. Eliel is an idiosyncratic artist that has established his presence or lack thereof on his own terms. Since 2017 he has toured with the Art Ensemble of Chicago as their technical consultant and sound engineer. He has positioned himself to be independent in all of his artistic endeavors. He sees himself as a cultural warrior who happens to study music.
