On April 26 at 7:30pm, the next iteration of The Middle features a new trio—flutist Priya Fink, oboist Will Stevens and bassist JT O’Toole—presenting an eclectic, multi-genre chamber music program. All active classical performers, the trio shares a collective desire to present concert music in a way that feels fresh, inviting, and relevant.

The program traces unexpected throughlines across musical traditions and eras, meditating on universal themes of cycles, love, and counterpoint. Previous concerts in the series paired two ensembles meeting in “The Middle.” This iteration challenges three musicians to wear many musical hats, pairing classical composers with works by pop, jazz, and contemporary artists, exploring “The Middle’s” interest in musical fusion in a whole new way.

Audience engagement activities invite listeners to reflect on how the program’s themes connect to their own life, and to find points of entry into music that might otherwise feel unfamiliar or inaccessible.
