We welcome Mojave Desert based artist Maya Jensen with a quartet performance pairing Maya with saxophonists Luc Mosley, drummer Isaiah Spencer, and cellist Ishmael Ali.

About The Artists
Maya Tokunaga Jensen is a bassist, cellist, and multimedia producer, based in the Mojave desert, with a creative process inspired by nature, earth honoring, and ancestral ritual.
Luc Mosley specializes in woodwinds and electronics. His style draws inspiration from jazz, classical, ambient, and electronic dance music. Utilizing a blend of woodwinds and electronics, he draws upon sounds of the past to forge new pathways for music of the future. In addition to leading his own group, the Luc Mosley Ensemble, he performs with Mucca Pazza, Graphics, Groppler Zorn, Cosmic Dance Band, Red Giant Project, and Autophysiopsychic Millennium. He is also a curator of the Elastro series at Elastic Arts and co-runs the Image of Thought series with Rin Peisert. Luc Mosley has played at venues and festivals across the country, including Electric Forest, Pitchfork Music Festival, Punk Black, and Carnegie Hall.
With his edgy style and innovative beats, jazz and blues drummer Isaiah Spencer has carved out a unique reputation in Chicago and beyond. Critics have called his sound propulsive, fiery, and incendiary.
Ishmael Ali is a dynamic cellist, guitarist, improviser, and composer based out of Chicago. His work centers on exploring sound through improvisation, experimentation, composition, and collaboration, focusing on a wide array of idiomatic approaches in an ever-changing, always-growing list of projects informed by diverse influences.
Jeff Kimmel is a Chicago-based clarinetist whose work encompasses improvisation, new and experimental music, and interdisciplinary collaborations. His discography includes releases on New Focus Recordings, Dinzu Artefacts, Amalgam, Peira and Low Impact.
Sharon Udoh is a Nigerian-American pianist, composer, arranger, and curator based in Chicago. Their performances have been described as a warm bowl of soup, a tornado, a jalapeño pepper, a Jackson Pollock painting, a bulldozer, dangerous, kind, and magnetic. Her collaborators have included clipping., Cooling Prongs, Tune-Yards, Mabel Kwan, Bill Harris, Ben Lamar Gay, Allen Moore, Angel Bat Dawid, and on this particular night, Jeff Kimmel.
