Jack Callahan & Jeff Witscher
NYC/PDX artists Jack Callahan and Jeff Witscher have been creating collaborative work for some years now and will bring a new set of sounds to Elastic Arts for their first visit. Both known for their many projects of all types of “sound music” / “music art”, the duo recordings often utilize human voice, “field recordings”, computer synthesis, and performative visual elements.
Kieran Daly
Kieran Daly is a composer and musician in Chicago, IL. Some of their prolific output for electronic and acoustic domains has been published by FLEA, Marginal Frequency, Lateral Addition, Hibari, Madacy Jazz, and others. Their generally weak music focuses on improvisation, pulse salience and jitter, monophony, feature extraction, and variable intonation as compositional precepts with an emphasis on form and structure.
Jen Hill
Chicago artist Jen Hill, hailing originally from the great state of Texas, is a composer and conceptual artist working with various media including sound, music, video, image, idea, the internet, jokes, etc. Their ongoing projects, although diverse in discipline, are all rooted in a triangulation between the impossible, the imaginary, and the useless. In many of their recent works, they apply a deconstructive approach based on absurdity to elements of both sonic and digital culture, focusing on social relations and interfaces, usually exploiting and/or erasing their significant traits and characters.
