Fugue State: Phase 3 - Film Screening Program 1

On April 1, FUGUE STATE brings the first of two new programs to Elastic Arts Foundation, featuring radical cinema, new premieres, expanded cinema performances, and interactive installations!

Fugue State, a project of Disassociative Productions, is a new traveling festival of experimental, radical, political, and avant-garde cinema with previous screenings held at the NY Film-Maker's Coop, Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, Elastic Arts Foundation (Chicago), and Comfort Station (Chicago), and while the festival keeps expanding to new cities, we are trying our most inventive night yet with our friends at Elastic Arts Foundation.

Starting with one hour of interactive work, Coded Black by Maisha Wester, both presented as a VR experience and a game, will be presented alongside an installation of selections from The Octopus aka David Matthew Johnson.

Short films by Mahda Purmehdi (Eautopsie) and Charli Christine Marker (Mastalghia) precede a live performance of Frozen Fields: Unexpected Growth by Jacklyn Brickman, Kelsey Paschich, and Kevin Abbott.

And lastly, the feature film presentation, is a Chicago premiere of M. Woods's Stuck in the 90's, the feature-length version of popular shorts curated and commissioned by Chicago-based curator and artist Henry Hanson for Full Spectrum Features' CYBERSLIME traveling program.

This is an eclectic program, verging at times on the extreme, the surreal, the absurd, the polemical, and the sublime, weaving an immersive map of media overdrive, and spanning multiple dimensions of media.

$12 - TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE OR AT DOOR

FUGUE STATE Program 2 also screens at Elastic Arts Foundation on April 8.
