Kristina Warren
Ben Zucker
At June’s Elastro series we’re excited to welcome Kristina Warren in from the east coast, along with solo performances from Elastic curator Ben Zucker and Nu A.M.!
Kristina Warren is a sound artist, composer, and improviser based on Narragansett land, also known as Providence, Rhode Island. For this performance, Warren will present a reimagined version of Tusk (2026), her audiovisual concertina-electronics album praised as "advanced and innovative" (Frédéric Cardin, PanM360) and "aural inscriptions cast against a smooth surface" (Brad Rose, Foxy Digitalis). This set uses free and structured improvisation to highlight the expansive, chaotic resonance of the concertina, a small free-reed instrument, together with analog sound processing and VHS-inflected visuals.
Ben's solo work for vibraphone and electronics incorporates interactive feedback and sampling into long form improvisational practices, most recently demonstrated on Alike Untils (1473 Recordings). We can’t wait to hear it on our stage!
Nu A.M. creates cassette-based sound collage work using tape-loops, lo-fi recording, shortwave radio, found cassette recordings and delay. Their process-focused work explores overlooked moments in time, transforming them from forgotten media to present day sound design and performance.
