At this month’s Dark Matter Series we welcome two bands, Rizing Deity and Naydja Bruton’s Rhythm Ninjas.

Rizing Deity creates a musical landscape known as " Afikan Progressive Fusion" or Afro-Prog-Fuzion for short. It's a Blend of Progressive Rock, Jazz Fusion and the sounds and Rhythm of The Afro Carribean, particularly Cuba, Haiti and Brazil. Through the music and storytelling of Rizing Deity, Ohnk becomes an avid writer, graphic novelist,historian and mythologist. The goal of Rizing Deity is to create modern day mythology that helps the Afrikan Ameican and Afro Carribean diasporas to picture life in the future, where we can all unify and become one with the kreator again.

Naydja Bruton & The Rhythm Ninjas are a drummer lead ensemble. The music is centered around healing and storytelling. Naydja believes that music is a vessel to building community and community is the key to healing and positive change. Her hope is that when you walk away from her show you feel energetic and hopeful about all that can be possible if you just follow your heart. And that following your heart allows you to show love and inspire all you encounter.
