It’s a big month for CLEAT with weekly workshops and a wonderful series show featuring three performances that integrate video and multichannel audio. We’ll have series debuts from Moth Vegas, WYRD MODULO, and the return of series curator Sam Clapp’s project Bliss Point!

Moth Vegas is a longstanding surrealist pop and visual music project established in 2010 in Frankfurt, Germany, by Devon Fisher and Bennett Jenisch. Currently split between Chicago and Los Angeles working remotely to bridge the divide, the pair works within Max/MSP, Ableton, and Touchdesigner to create melodic and textural audiovisual work that aims to evoke a German expression, “die Sehnsucht” — a sense of yearning for an unattainable state of being. Fittingly, Devon Fisher will be performing solo here at CLEAT.

Using portions of CLEAT’s 16 channel audio system "Wyrd Modulo" project will engage an audience in a sound, light and touch focused interactive performance driven by the audience. The goal is for people to explore, play and enjoy new ways of collaborating in a spontaneous discovery of a musical instrument where their own acoustic, and tactile contributions to the table input detectors inform and create the emergent experience. / Enki Andrews creates art inspired by Complex Systems: Bio-tech interactions, Bio-bio interactions and mixed media. Based in Chicago he is a Multimedia Interactive Artist experimenting with physical phenomena to discover how humanity views itself in light of our finite human perceptions and how expanding those reflections enhances our self awareness.

Sam Clapp’s Bliss Point 3 is the third installment in a series of cinematic inkblots. BP3 invites the audience "to take a beat and wonder: in / this eon of peace & love / this instant of violence & negligence, / what seeds am I sowing?"
