As part of the 2025 Chicago Jazz Festival Citywide series we present three free shows with Elastic Arts mainstays. Tonight we hear from the Mai Sugimoto Trio! Mai Sugimoto is a Japanese-born saxophonist and active member of Chicago's jazz and creative music scene. Sugimoto is a member of some of Chicago's favorite bands, including Hanami, Fred Anderson Legacy Band, Tatsu Aoki's MIYUMI Project, Jeb Bishop Quintet, BYSH, and Natural Information Society’s Community Ensemble. 

For this performance, Sugimoto will perform in a trio with Chicago greats Katie Ernst on bass and Marcus Evans on drums.
