The Elastro series welcomes the wonderful Fetter back to our space as they celebrate with a Pre-Release Party of their new album that comes out in October. They’ve invited some friends to the party, including live performances from Club Drippy, Desert Liminal and Odette. We’ll also have Girly*** DJ’ing all night along. Let’s go!
Fetter is the stage moniker of multimedia artist, Jess Tucker. Their performances take place in clubs as well as galleries, often incorporating video, installation, and interactive performance art elements. Fetter makes clubby self-destructing noise pop to dance and weep to. Oscillating between ethereal and pounding, their all-hardware, largely improvised live sets take listeners through a foggy wilderness of saturated rhythms and menacing synth lines, a golden voice guiding the way through. Fetter's debut LP, Body of Noise, will be launched in October on Osare! Editions, the Amsterdam-based label run by Elena Colombi and known for its boundary-pushing electronic releases. The limited edition record will be available for pre-order at the event!
Desert Liminal's performance centers dream-like poetry and looping vocal melody within a lush cloud of textures, alchemizing bleak memories into something beautiful and distant.
Odette is an artist and drag performer whose experimental handmade silicone costumes are a staple in Chicago underground nightlife. They stage intermedia performances that cast collaborating artists as otherworldly living artworks, called on to help tell stories from spaces where self-creation is a survival art practice. Their runway events synthesize fashion, digital installation, dance, drag and poetry. Afterwards, garments from these projects become part of a costume library, lended out of their studio to local performers and artists. These wearables are documented through their many lives and uses as they gradually degrade and vanish into underground lore.
Girly*** is a performance alias born and currently based in Chicago. Bass, vocal samples and community allow girly*** to bridge gaps between genres bred in the Midwest to the UK. Every blend may not be perfect but every blend will be poetic
