This is a fundraiser for All About Love featuring DJ sets from Janesita, King GNS, and Salem. All About Love is a street dance and art communities event that celebrates, honors, and assimilates together the dynamics of gender spectrums in street dance/ art communities in Chicago. The event comprises completely improvised performances, yet a sacred and positively intentional version that is put together with artists from the Chicago dance communities. The group will be composed of dancers working with an idea of intersection and various perspectives of cultural diaspora living in people of color and queer artists. The event will be held for three days with a feminism study workshop, art exhibition & showcases, and open public conversation for sharing reflections regarding the main topic of the event. These group practices will not only provide a safe and creative space for the artists. Yet, it will also become the space that embraces and appreciates diversity in cultures and genders to embody an absolute fluidity in a variety of identities in a respectful manner. Each activity idea will apply reflections of each collaborator, including the artist themselves, Elisabete “Kerberus” Seonwoo, toward intersectional & cultural diaspora and gender fluidity. These complete practices are purposed to build and create a safe space for Chicago artist communities. Eventually, the group will be a bridge to fill a disconnection between people unfamiliar with these topics to seed positive impacts and inspirations for building a healthy and safe community together.
