ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

Bassist/vocalist Katie Ernst is described by the Chicago Tribune as "a versatile young bassist who plays in far-flung bands and sings with uncommon delicacy and authenticity." Her solo set for double bass and voice includes Ernst’s original songs and improvisations, as well as her take on American folksongs and jazz standards.

After a nearly three year hiatus, ALEX MASSA PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS returns to Elastic Arts in celebration of the release of their most recent record - Alex Massa Plays Well With Others: Adventure #3 - Miller/Hatwich/Spencer. Recorded at Shirk Studios on Dec 7, 2019 and engineered by Dan Pierson, the record explores compositions written by Massa from his time living in New Orleans and residency in Iceland, and spontaneous composition from all members.
