Anagram Series – Chris Madsen Quartet

The Chris Madsen Quartet was formed by Chicago-based saxophonist Chris Madsen in 2017 to present his original music to the world. Joining Madsen are some of the finest musicians on the planet: drummer Dana Hall (Ray Charles, Horace Silver), pianist Stu Mindeman (Kurt Elling, Miguel Zenon), and bassist Clark Sommers (Jeff “Tain” Watts, Brian Blade). The group has garnered attention in the midwest, having already performed at many venues such as the Jazz Estate (MKE), Jazz Showcase (CHI), Logan Center for the Arts (CHI), Cafe Mustache (CHI), The Whistler (CHI), Elastic (CHI), and the 2019 Chicago Jazz Festival. In 2018, the group was awarded a grant by the Illinois Arts Council Agency to record their debut album entitled Bonfire which was released in November 2019 on Outside In Music.
