    Transference Fest 2019: Night Two

    $15 – $25
This May 24th and 25th, WNUR will be sponsoring Transference Fest, a weekend-long experimental music festival hosted at Elastic Arts. A strong lineup of out-of-town performers have been invited to collaborate with local Chicago acts, and vice-versa, generating a uniquely experimental musicianʼs space that will serve as a physical manifestation of what WNUR seeks to do on the air. Transference Fest will join both regional and international artists for two nights of collaborations and provocative performances that reflect Chicago's rich and internationally heralded tradition in sound and music experimentation. As a community inspired event, Transference Fest is an expression of our shared commitment to under–represented artists and the exhibition of their work without constraint.

Set times are estimates, official set times TBD

Saturday 5/25

9PM-10PM: Ikue Mori and friends – Ikue Mori, a New Yorker by way of Tokyo, is a celebrated electronic improvisational musician with a wealth of legendary collaborations under her belt. Her performances are organic and engaging and likely to lead you to an entirely new headspace. She will perform solo and with Swiss saxophonist Urs Leimgruber and Chicago electronicist Paul Giallorenzo.

10PM-11PM: King Vision Ultra (Geng) – King Vision Ultra, who also goes by Geng, is a Queens, NY-based producer who synthesizes hip-hop beats that feed electronic energy through acoustic drum work. His label PTP is a haven for experimental collaboration. Geng’s experiential live performances are nothing short of spiritual. Visual accompaniment by Chicago artist Maren Celest will make this performance a multi-sensory experience.

11PM-12:30AM: Bergsonist – Bergsonist is a Brooklyn, NY-based DJ, artist, and musician. As part of the electronic music collective Discwoman, she has bent genres as a means of “investigating social resonance” and “detaching subjective meaning from found sonic fragments.” 3D visuals by Jesús Hilario-Reyes will serve as a mesmerizing optical accompaniment.
