ST(ART UP) SERIES
$10ST(ART UP) is a quarterly series that brings together DJ’s, live performance, and visual art to celebrate and support emerging talent in Chicago. Exploring and expanding on the idea of starting up an artistic practice, ST(ART UP) supports emerging artists by providing a safe space for experimentation and collaboration across the realms of visual art and music. ST(ART UP) seeks to connect emerging artists to a broader network of creative practitioners to support their growth and encourages the exchange of ideas. ST(ART UP) will take shape as an opening party for each exhibition, featuring special performances by the exhibiting artists supported by a roster of local DJ’s.

JAN BRUGGER’s work encompasses digital and sculptural compositions that speak to the screen’s influence on the human body and mind. Brugger’s immersive installations, collages and videos stimulate bodily interactions with screens and serve as a wry commentary on the oversaturation of social media, the internet and post-truth narratives that are present in our everyday lives.
JACKERSIZE is a rotating cast of DJ’s spinning house, disco, soul, and other good things in Chicago. They host a monthly or so vinyl-only dance party at a DIY loft venue in Lakeview, where the sounds of disco, synth-pop, house, and other early underground dance music are celebrated.
JILLIAN X is a house and dance DJ based out of Chicago, IL. Her mixes blend bangin’ beats with a touch of disco, techno, and funk.
QUICKTASTIC is a music enthusiast. His fusion of nu-disco and funky-house tunes emit a groove so catchy, your limbs won’t physically be able to resist bouncing to the rhythm. Nick doesn’t just perform, he takes you on a Quicktastic Voyage.
