Sapropelic Pycnic (Kathleen Baird of Spires) is celebrating the release of a cassette through No Index, A Love Supreme, a tribute record to John Coltrane and his album A Love Supreme. She also released a full length LP called “See Sun Think Shadow” through the Brooklyn label Perfect Wave of piano improvisations in October. On this evening she will be playing the piano solo in support of both releases.
– Tape Release (No Index, Chi)
Haley Fohr of Circuit des Yeux will be making a solo appearance performing part of a score for a short film that she is working on that is predominately drone & vocal based called “Congratulations, Debby.”
jason roebke – bass
peter maunu – guitar/violin
carol genetti – voice, etcetera…
jim baker – piano, etcetera,,,
Tar Pet (Taralie Peterson of Spires) will liquify you through cello, harp, saxophone and voice. There is a constant disintegration of oppositions in her ritualistic music – meandering yet simultaneously focused, beautiful and melodic but unnerving and discordant. Great for opening the mind to the cracks between worlds.
