Elastic Arts announces its second season of “Night Out in the Parks” Culture Coach series presented in conjunction with the Chicago Park District, Madison Media Institute and Kuumba Renaissance of Madison, Wisconsin.
The Culture Coach, a traveling pop-up stage, will bring music and hands-on arts experiences to 10 parks clustered on the North, South and West sides of Chicago. The series begins Saturday, June 28 and ends on Saturday, August 30. Each park visit will include DJ Ayana and a different band chosen to reflect genres selected by the park supervisor. A drum circle will begin each event and loaner drums will be available on a first come-first served basis for the audience to participate.
The evening’s fun begins at 4 p.m. with a drum circle. DJ Ayana begins at 5pm. spinning from her extensive collection of records. The band hits at 6 p.m. and will play music to make your feet move until after 7 p.m. when DJ Ayana returns to play more danceable music until 8 p.m. Bring a chair or a blanket, some refreshments and your dancing shoes.
“Night Out in the Parks” brings more than 1000 activities to neighborhood parks this summer, to help make community parks safe havens and hubs of activity. Check out the schedule attached, find a park and join in the fun. For other park activities consult the website:
