Chicago Underground Film Festival Opening Night Party!

with KHAVN, Tarnation, Petras, Michael Morris
Director of Pusong Wazak | Ruined Heart, the CUFF opening night film!
Khavn is a songwriter and has performed his original compositions either as a solo pianist or with one of his three bands (Fando & Lis, The Brockas and Vigo) in Thessaloniki, Austin, Brisbane, Edinburgh, New York, Sharjah, Rome, and many others. He is well-known for the improvisational live scoring of several of his films, either solo or with other musicians.

Originally formed to create a film score, Tarnation continues to take a cinematic approach to sound and music. Delivering ambient soundscapes, punctuated by sound effects and sampled voices, cultural references and suggested narrative emerge and dissolve into the ethereal sound, forging trenches along which the familiar gives way to the uncanny and the unprecedented begins to appear.

Petras is a multi instrumentalist singer-songwriter born in a suburb of Detroit now based in Chicago blending indie, folk and rock with an appropriate measure of dissonance and nostalgia.
