SuperKnova is a Chicago-based transgender artist who creates Queer Pop, a guitar-based sound that incorporates electronic drums, driving synths, and virtuosic solos. They write about identity, sex, queerness and the struggle of being your authentic self.
DJ SJ plays live sets in and around the Chicago area, with residency at Underground Lounge, formerly at smartbar, Liars Club and neo/Debonair – specializing in Industrial/EBM, New Wave and Dark House.
Owen Bones stands out in a crowd of endlessly recursive DJs and producers — a 23-year-old presence defined by a stark-white skull. Unimpressed with the form and unfettered by the imagined boundaries of much of modern electronic music production, he’s set himself apart from a scene obsessed with maximalism by reducing his artistic elements to their most essential core components. The result is music that seethes intensity and bleeds light from the seams, free of the need to rely on trope or overplayed form to carry its weight. Largely existing as a digital entity, Owen’s physical form resides on Chicago’s west side and is seen locally from time to time. In 2016, Owen dropped two projects, the “Surrender!” EP, which boasted features by breakout lyricists Mick Jenkins and Kevin Abstract, and his concept mixtape “Dive Club”. In this latest project, he explores a dense metaphor arc he uses to describe his artistic process. Owen Bones has tapped into an infinite well of creativity and his willingness to be unapologetic and personal with his production will spawn future projects that will connect with fans across boundaries previously thought insurmountable.
