Plastic Crimewave aka Steven Krakow is known for being a “psychedelic guru” who heads up Plastic Crimewave Syndicate, a legendary space-punk ensemble. Steven also runs the Galactic Zoo Disk reissue label imprint and draws/writes the bi-weekly Secret History of Chicago Music comics for the Chicago Reader. Tonight Steven brings his solo experimental music to CUFF.
Kevin McComb of Sweet Figurines performs a solo acoustic set of the music of David Bowie. When asked; why Bowie? Kevin’s response is; If I know how to sing at all it’s because of decades of singing along to Bowie records. The set includes David’s classics but is full of lesser known Bowie tunes as well.
Billy Tuggle is a South Side Chicago native, spoken word artist, poetry slam champion and parent. Billy is an organizer for long-running Chicago open mic In One Ear, and the poetry slam Mental Graffiti. He also tours regularly, performing and facilitating workshops across North America.
Adam Paradis is a Boston born Chicago based independent filmmaker and moving image curator. His work focuses on topics of film materiality media archeology and archival process. His film and video work has been screened worldwide at festivals and venues including The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Institute of Contemporary Art Boston, Museum of Contemporary Photography Chicago and have been used by Palace De Tokyo Paris, and have been featured on Pitchfork.
